Rizwan grew up in the city of Karachi in Pakistan, where he completed his medical education at the Aga Khan University. He traded hot Karachi summers for Minnesota winters when he moved to Rochester, Minnesota, where he completed his residency training in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. He is a board-certified pediatrician who has worked in clinical and hospital settings. He has a wide variety of clinical interests: working with student-athletes, helping children facing acute illnesses, and working collaboratively with families facing chronic illnesses, e.g., asthma, and ADHD.

His family, two kids, and a border collie- Luca, are passionate about food, music, and the outdoors. Rizwan calls Minnesota home now and considers winter to be the best time of the year. The family enjoys going out for snowboarding, cross-country skiing, biking, and camping. In his off time, one of the things Rizwan enjoys is volunteering his time with the local mountain biking team.
