Book online! Book Now Tanya Liberato MD Biography Dr. Tanya Liberato spent her early years growing up in central New Jersey, and then her middle school and high school years in upstate New York. She received her Bachelor's degree from Villanova University in 1991. She went on to get her medical degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey in 1997 after completing an extra year of study in Public Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center at El Paso. She completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at the University of South Florida at both Tampa General Hospital and All Children's Hospital (currently JHACH). Dr. Tanya has over 20 years of experience in pediatrics, having practiced both in a federally funded community health center and in private practice in the Tampa Bay area. She is passionate about supporting parents and keeping children both physically and mentally healthy. She has a special interest in ADD/ADHD. She is also the proud mother of 2 adult children and lives with her husband of over 25 years and their furry pets. She enjoys paddle boarding, volleyball, biking, beaches, lakes, movies, and traveling and is excited about cross country skiing as a possible new favorite pastime. Spring Park Clinic Closure: What Patients Need to Know Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Dear Wayzata Children’s Clinic Families, We want to share some important news with you regarding our Spring Park location . After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to permanently close this clinic. We want to clarify that only Wayzata Children’s Clinic will be closing in this building. Ridgeview Westonka clinic remains open and available to continue serving the community. Our last day of patient visits will be Thursday, March 27 , and the clinic will officially close on Friday, March 28 . We understand this may come as a disappointment, and we truly appreciate the trust you have placed in us to care for your children. Your family's health and well-being have always been at the heart of what we do, and we are grateful for the many memories we've shared with you over the years at our Spring Park clinic. At Wayzata Children’s Clinic, our goal is to provide the highest quality care while ensuring convenient access for all our families. Since reopening the Spring Park facility, many of our patients had already transitioned to other WCC providers and locations during the initial closure and chose to continue their care there. As a result, our patient numbers have remained lower than expected and have not grown as anticipated, making it unsustainable to maintain operations. After evaluating patient needs and the region’s growth trends, we made the thoughtful decision to consolidate our Spring Park team into our Minnetonka location to continue offering the best possible care. Both Tanya Liberato, MD and Jen LeGare, FNP-BC will be continuing to provide care at our Minnetonka location. Book Now Shane McWhirter MD Biography Shane grew up in Kasson, Minnesota before graduating magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, Minnesota) in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience. He was accepted into the University of Minnesota Medical School after his undergraduate studies. With a strong interest in pediatrics from an early age (he told his 6th grade teacher he was going to be a pediatrician!), Shane was selected to participate in an innovative, competency-based, pediatric-focused program called Education in Pediatrics Across the Continuum (EPAC) which allowed him to earn his medical degree in 2017. He continued on at the University of Minnesota to complete his pediatric residency training in 2020 before joining Wayzata Children's Clinic. Shane enjoys taking care of children of all ages and has special interests in adolescent medicine, mental health care, weight management/nutrition and medical education. He is passionate about partnering with patients and families in their healthcare journey and empowering them to make decisions that optimize their physical, mental and emotional health in the context of their unique situation. Shane currently lives in Minneapolis with his wife, Caitlin (a high school teacher at Minnetonka High School), and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Teddy. She attended the College of William and Mary, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Neuroscience. She continued her educational journey by graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Kaitlin met her now husband in Virginia and moved to California with him while he finished his service in the military, working there as a NICU nurse. She later moved with her husband to Minnesota and worked at Children's Minnesota Minneapolis for five years as a NICU nurse while completing her master's degree in nursing from Maryville University, graduating in 2022. She is board-certified as a primary care pediatric nurse practitioner and joined Wayzata Children's Clinic in 2023. Kaitlin has a passion for including the entire family in the plan of care with a focus on education and a love for new parents, babies, and lactation support. She also enjoys chronic conditions, gastrointestinal problems, and growth and development. Kaitlin loves to spend time on the water, hike, and hang out with family and friends in her free time.
