Shane grew up in Kasson, Minnesota, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. He was subsequently accepted to the University of Minnesota Medical School. With a strong interest in pediatrics from an early age (he told his sixth-grade teacher he planned to become a pediatrician). Shane was selected for the innovative, competency-based Education in Pediatrics Across the Continuum (EPAC) program, which allowed him to earn his medical degree in 2017.

He continued his training at the University of Minnesota, completing his pediatric residency in 2020 before joining Wayzata Children’s Clinic. Shane enjoys caring for children of all ages and has special interests in adolescent medicine and medical education. He is passionate about partnering with patients and families throughout their healthcare journey and empowering them to make informed decisions that support their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Shane lives in Minneapolis with his wife, a teacher at Minnetonka High School, their two children, and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Teddy. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants, traveling, attending concerts and movies, and cheering on Minnesota sports teams.
